At The Agrarian Kitchen, we propagate all of our own annual vegetables and flowers. This short course will focus on the systems and practices we use to grow strong, healthy seedlings using sustainable methods.

We’ll begin with how to make a high-quality seed-raising mix and other propagation mediums. From there, we’ll delve into our soil-blocking system along with additional techniques for starting plants. We’ll explore how to propagate from both seeds and cuttings, highlighting the differences and best practices for each.

Finally, we’ll look at how to give young plants the best possible start using biological inoculants, as well as how to keep them well nourished with a range of foliar sprays. Guests will take home seedlings and cuttings to add to their own summer gardens.
